Privacy Policy

For the Copy Page as Markdown Chrome extension.

Last updated: 13 July 2026

In one sentence: the extension collects no data, sends nothing to any server, and does everything locally in your browser.

What data we collect

None. Copy Page as Markdown does not collect, store, log, or transmit any personal information, browsing history, page content, or usage data. There are no analytics, no tracking, no cookies, and no accounts.

How the extension works

When you click the extension's toolbar button, it reads the content of the page you are currently viewing, converts it to Markdown, and copies the result to your clipboard. That is the entire operation. It happens once per click, entirely on your own device, and the converted text never leaves your browser.

Permissions we request, and why

activeTabLets the extension read the current tab's content only at the moment you click the button. It cannot access other tabs and does nothing in the background.
scriptingLets the extension inject a one-time function into the active tab (only on your click) to read the page and produce Markdown. Nothing is stored or sent anywhere.

Data sharing and sale

Because the extension collects no data, there is nothing to share, sell, or transfer. We do not sell or transfer user data to third parties, we do not use it for any purpose unrelated to the extension's single purpose, and we do not use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending.

Remote code

The extension uses no remote code. All logic ships inside the extension package and runs locally.
